Ask don't beg

A lot of people don't understand this concept. It's okay to ask a question when you have one, but it's not okay to beg people for help just to get further along in the game. For some reason people feel that begging is an acceptable form of becoming a good player. Guess what? It's not! So don't do it because it's highly annoying.

Also, there are a lot of players out there that beg. So when you ask a question and get no help it is because so many people beg, and it is hard for players to differentiate between begging and asking. So if you don't get any help don't take it personally just move on and ask somebody else. Just move on, don't take it personally, and most of all the harass someone for not helping you out.

There is a lot of garbage out there and you can't expect everyone to be helpful. There are a lot of people out there that think playing equals = begging. The sooner we all learn to stop annoying people by begging the sooner the number grows and helpful players. There are few helpful people out there and the less we bother them the more of them there will be to help.

Don't deliberately injure your own teammates (friendly fire)

I can't believe I even have to bring this up for people actually have a problem with deliberately killing members of their own team. People enter team games and kill members of their own team. Can you believe it?I can only assume that the purpose of attacking people on your own team is to disrupt the game. I can only say that is very bad behavior, and most likely will get you kicked out of most servers. As well, you should, because there is absolutely no point you should be killing members of your own team! Now in a real combat friendly fire is unavoidable and a part of the battlefield. Even experienced players accidentally FRAG members of their own team. There are times we get in situations where we are double teaming another player and you just fall subject to be innocent gunfire of someone on your own team. This is an inevitable part of the game and its okay.Just a simple fact that someone's behavior takes away from playing the game irritates me. What I mean is, if your actions are so deplorable that the other players have to stop playing and take a vote to have you booted off the server is ridiculous. Players should be playing the game, not spending their time policing the room that they are in. All they should be responsible for is to have fun.I think we would get a lot further teams would just boot off players that are there to kill anyone and everyone. It is pretty obvious which players are there for kills and kills only and not for team play. Get those players off the field! They are needed for team play like a previous article stated in the famous metaphor says “There is no I in team”. Let's keep it that way.Deliberately hurting your fellow teammates in a team game is obviously missing the point! Stop it, don't do it. If you want to be annoying then find another place to do it because we don't want you in our game room.Padding your stats with kills is that I've always said just a false way to make you feel better about being a poor player. If you kill someone on your team they obviously are not the fire back at first. So is that REALLY a kill! People should ask themselves at before they enter a room and go on a massive killing spree.

Don't hold up survivor games by going AWOL

I think most the hard-core gamers will agree that this issue is a big one. When you're playing a survivor game you're ready to play. Most gamers do not want to sit around waiting for you being ready to join! Nobody wants to wait for a timeout error. They just want to play so put down your smoke and get in there and play the game!

Most players don't mind if you are actually making a concerted effort to play. But since they can't see you they assume that you are just goofing off. To be honest, walking away from your keyboard for an extended period of time is just plain rude. When you sign up for the game be ready to play.

I had a friend that used to sign up for a game and then go out and have a cigarette. This used to drive me crazy to watch him do that. I thought that was so rude.

I would ask him “What are you doing? You just signed up to play!”.

He would say to me “It’s no problem. Not everyone will be signed up by the time finish my smoke.”

Inevitably the room would be full by the time he got halfway through his cigarette. He had no urgency to finish smoking. He just sat there and made everyone else wait. Everyone else was ready to play the game and he was too busy to get his fix to start playing. Why did he even sign up if he was craving a cigarette?

Also, camping out is not good either. If you are playing a team game and you are not playing and are just camping out on the field that is also unacceptable. What you're doing is hurting the team score. You are also making it more difficult for other players that are currently playing. It is easier for the opposing team to double-team somebody if you aren't there to provide protection. Yes, you may have instant gratification when you do pick up your controller to play. But your fellow teammates are too busy getting pummeled while you just stand in the corner. So yes, you get to pick up the controller and begin playing but that is at the expense of the other players trying to improve. Both players can improve if they're too busy fighting off a double-team by their/your opponent.

So for all you players out there, don't sign up for a survivor game and not be ready to play. Yes, you may have to wait a minute or two before the game starts but suffer through it and be ready to play at a moment's notice. Yes I know it is tough in today's society to have to wait but sometimes you have to do it. If everyone follows this simple rule in the overall gameplay will be better and more competitive. You can't ask for any more than that.

Don't single someone out just because you can

I see this happen all the time. I find this to be a deplorable practice as well. When one player finds an easy target, and just continues to attack them because they know they can win. They don't necessarily need to be attacking a newbie. Just someone they know they can beat.

I understand the competitive nature of video games, but can you honestly say that you're being competitive if you keep on attacking someone that you know you can always win against? It is one thing to keep attacking someone that is always a crossing your path, but it is another thing completely when you are intentionally making sure that your paths cross with that person.

For example, you and another player like to hide out roughly in the same area so you keep killing him to protect yourself. I think that's okay, and there's nothing wrong with that. But if you camp out waiting for player who you know likes to hide out in a certain spot and you will get an easy kill based on this knowledge. I find that to be something slightly different.

The gray area is, are you being competitive or just looking for an easy kill? I think that if you're just trying to flush someone out of hiding spot or are you just trying to kill someone over and over again, because you can? Some people argue that if the person keeps going back to that spot it's their fault. I agree with that statement, but if you are constantly following a person to find out what their hiding spots are so you can keep killing them again and again because they are an easy target. That is another thing completely.

I must say just because I understand the philosophy doesn't mean I agree with it. I think it's everyone's responsibility on the field to keep the game fun and exciting. After all you are there to have a good time and contribute to the fun everyone else is having. If you are not letting someone else have a fun time because you constantly picking on them that really defeats the purpose. I am all for having a competitive match up but there is a line in the sand that you should draw.

I have set down some other players, gone online, and watch them single somebody out. Just because they know they can get some kills. Unfortunately, this causes me to play to them. I now am singling out the person singling someone else out and making their game just as miserable. That is not right either. I find it no better than I am protecting the person being singled out because now my game is affected also. I admit that protecting someone from being singled out by another player is just as bad.

I guess what I'm saying is that I would appreciate other players not singling out other players. Because I now feel that I need to protect both players to keep the game competitive. I hate this about my gameplay, because it's completely subconscious. I don't even think about doing it. I just do it when I see it. So I'm asking the other players out there to please help me protect myself from my subconscious by not singling out somebody else and picking on them just because you can. Thank you.

If you are playing a first-person shooter game don't whine when others go after you, Of course they want to win too.

I must say the title of this one says it all. If you can't figure out this concept I'm not sure what to tell you. If you're in a first-person shooter of course you want to do well and of course you want to win. Others in online shooter game are going to try to kill you , because that is the purpose of the game.

Don't sit there and whine about someone killing you when you of course are trying to do the same thing. That is entirely the point of playing online. Come on, if it really bums you out to be killed by other players can try not going online to play. The simulated computer players are not getting emotional about how the game is being played. They are just programmed to play the game the way they are programmed play you. They don't analyze the way you are playing them and they don't have the skills to logically think about how they should attack you.

Online players all have a need to feel successful at the game they are playing. Therefore they are going to put some thought into how to play the game. It completely defeats the purpose of playing with online players if you are just going to sit back and get upset about them trying to be successful at the game! Complaining about this is a sign of an amateur. If you don't want to be treated like an amateur then don't act like one.

Any experienced gamer is going to find you and FRAG you. I know when I'm playing a game with a whiner I am instantly attracted to them as a target. I just want to find him and make their gameplay as unpleasant as possible to get them out of the game and off my headset as soon as possible.
