Don't hold up survivor games by going AWOL

I think most the hard-core gamers will agree that this issue is a big one. When you're playing a survivor game you're ready to play. Most gamers do not want to sit around waiting for you being ready to join! Nobody wants to wait for a timeout error. They just want to play so put down your smoke and get in there and play the game!

Most players don't mind if you are actually making a concerted effort to play. But since they can't see you they assume that you are just goofing off. To be honest, walking away from your keyboard for an extended period of time is just plain rude. When you sign up for the game be ready to play.

I had a friend that used to sign up for a game and then go out and have a cigarette. This used to drive me crazy to watch him do that. I thought that was so rude.

I would ask him “What are you doing? You just signed up to play!”.

He would say to me “It’s no problem. Not everyone will be signed up by the time finish my smoke.”

Inevitably the room would be full by the time he got halfway through his cigarette. He had no urgency to finish smoking. He just sat there and made everyone else wait. Everyone else was ready to play the game and he was too busy to get his fix to start playing. Why did he even sign up if he was craving a cigarette?

Also, camping out is not good either. If you are playing a team game and you are not playing and are just camping out on the field that is also unacceptable. What you're doing is hurting the team score. You are also making it more difficult for other players that are currently playing. It is easier for the opposing team to double-team somebody if you aren't there to provide protection. Yes, you may have instant gratification when you do pick up your controller to play. But your fellow teammates are too busy getting pummeled while you just stand in the corner. So yes, you get to pick up the controller and begin playing but that is at the expense of the other players trying to improve. Both players can improve if they're too busy fighting off a double-team by their/your opponent.

So for all you players out there, don't sign up for a survivor game and not be ready to play. Yes, you may have to wait a minute or two before the game starts but suffer through it and be ready to play at a moment's notice. Yes I know it is tough in today's society to have to wait but sometimes you have to do it. If everyone follows this simple rule in the overall gameplay will be better and more competitive. You can't ask for any more than that.

If you play a team game don't be greedy and snap up all the points were all the bonuses or bonus weapons. Share and share alike.

Another title that says it all. This is for the players that are just obsessed with winning. Yes, winning is great, however, having hours of competitive gameplay is even better. Playing for hours competitively has taught me that I don't necessarily to win the game to say I had fun.

I have played against people that are so obsessed with winning they just run around and pick up all the weapons. Not only is this a greedy way to play. It is a telltale that the player is pretty inexperienced. Really they are only good at running around picking up weapons and bonuses to add to their score and prevent others from attacking them.

Somewhere in their brain they got the idea that if you can't shoot at them then they can win. This thought is true to an extent. Playing with people like this is obviously boring. If they think they're better player by not allowing you to even pick up a decent weapon to play against them they are just fooling themselves. Let me end the suspense for them right here and right now... you are not a good player.

Not only do they have to know how to play the game . You should have to know how to FRAG others as well. I understand this way of thinking, if your only concern is winning. It is important to be a balanced player to be considered a good player. You are an idiot if you think that preventing others from attacking you makes you good player. It is just poor etiquette and you are an unbalanced player.

I have spent hours sitting around with friends, laughing at each other and our competitive ways. It's not really competitive if one player gets greedy and prevents all the other players from playing against them. You may be a winner, but really you're just wasting your time and a boring person to play with. Playing with a player like this really is no fun and if you enjoy playing like this then you need to reconsider the type of player you are, if you think you're any good at playing the game.

Veteran players should not pick on newbies. There is no glory in beating someone who isn't even sure how to play yet.

Okay so you're a veteran player that's impressive. The number of games you play is not. If you are a veteran that just picks on some people that you know don't know how to play the game then how good are you? How good can you be if you always pick an opponent that doesn't know how to fight back. Not very good in my opinion!

Honestly, how good are you if you just pick off players that hardly know how to play the game? I mean come on, there is a term in the real world for that. We call it a chicken hawk. Ask yourself how good you are, if your opponent doesn't even know how to run, jump, or even change his weapon? Can you truly tight yourself on the back for game well played if you only play one-sided contests. I personally wouldn't go around bragging about it.

Most people who play like this generally go around lying and/or bragging about how great of a player they are. They have to because they really aren't that good a player. But when it finally comes down to playing the game they cannot straffe, duck, or hit a moving target. This is because they never test themselves. Players like this never learn basic abilities because they don't need to. They are too busy picking off players that don't even know how to play the game. I like to think that I'm only as good as my opponent. They test you and believe it or not they teach you how play the game well.

You will learn how to do things you never learned how to do against another player that challenges you. A player that challenges you definitely knows how to play the game a little bit differently and may teach you something.Leave the newbies alone. They are just learning how to play the game. Better yet, teach them how to become a better player. You never know that newbie may the game of your life once he learns how to play.
