Here’s one for all you noobs out there... If you don't know how to something don't be afraid to ask. There is one thing you have to remember we were all noobs at one time or another. It's okay to ask someone because even though you may embarrassed to ask someone but someone is always willing to help you out and teach you how to play more effectively.

Let me ask you this. Would you rather not ask someone how to do something and be embarrassed or be on the field of battle and wandering around not knowing what do when you're given specific instructions from people on your team? If you ask someone you quickly get resolution to your problem and you may save yourself a few deaths.

Another reason you want to ask someone a question like, where an item is, is an important question to ask. Don't let your pride stop you from being a successful player. If someone is on your team of course they are to want to help you! So I ask for help when you need it. It will benefit you in your team in the long run.

Just keep in mind that just because you are a noob that doesn't mean you are entitled to help. There are a lot of experienced players out there that would like to teach someone how to play more effectively. So don't worry, just ask the questions you need the answers to, because ultimately it will make you a better player. Just remember to return the favor when you become experienced and be patient when you have an answer to a question that someone may need the answer to.

Don't pick on the defenseless as their defenses may be hidden or you may be just discouraging a newbie from ever playing the game again and that's just wrong.

This one is all for the experienced game players out there. Don't pick on the player that you perceive as defenseless. There are two reasons why, the player may be just playing possum for you to come after him and they will annihilate you or you may be discouraging a new player that just picked up the game and is learning how to play for the first time.

I can't count how many times I have played possum in an online game! It is really easy to do. Just wander around like you don't know where you are. Eventually an egomaniac is going to come after you thinking that you are an easy target. Then when they come up to you just completely hit them with your arsenal. Gosh, what an easy kill that was. It just delivered itself to you.

Psychologically, you may feel superior to the week, appearing player, but that player may have just picked up the game and felt like they were just experienced enough to compete in the online world. If you make their game playing so miserable by attacking them that player may just put down the game and stop playing. Then when their friend calls and ask them to recommend a good first-person shooter game they may not recommend a game that you may love. Sales may go down on that game and game companies may have the false impression that the game is not popular and possibly stop programming games that you may love.

My point is this, though you may have that moment of superiority by attacking the defenseless player. You may have permanently discouraged that player from giving that game positive reviews to their friends and on and Internet review site. That does you or the game no good, and it doesn't do anything for the defenseless player. They may not like a legitimately fun game because you are not making it fun for them and not because the game is bad. You may possibly change the scope of good games being created for online play. If you like that game you are playing then you just made an enjoyable game on enjoyable for someone else. Is that what you really want?

If you do talk smack, don't complain when people do it back to you

When you do talk smack, just be prepared for the bombardment of people trying to FRAG you when you do. You might as well say"Hey come and get me and give it your best shot!"When you talk smack to other players. It is part of the game. So get used to it.

Talking smack is a simple concept. If you are good enough to antagonize someone to come after you then you should be prepared for people to try to kill you. When they do, do not whine about them trying to do so. This is very poor etiquette. Most experienced players enjoy smack talk and take it as an invite to come after you and talk plenty of smack back to you. So just remember talking smack whining when it's done to you is like inviting people over for a party and complaining when everyone actually shows up to party!

Seriously, don't do the crime, if you're not willing to do the time. That is a metaphor that describes this very clearly. Most experienced players consider it an invitation to attack you. If you don't want them to come after you don't ask them to come after you by talking smack. Your opponent most definitely will reciprocate. When you do and whine about being talked smack to, almost everyone who knows about in the game and will come after you twice as hard just to teach you a lesson and or get you off the field because you are annoying them by your incestuous whining.

Rule of thumb, if you aren't willing to play the game the way it was meant to be played, when people talk smack to you, don't talk smack back in a whinny way because your whining is annoying people are there to play the game, be entertained by playing the game, and are generally super competitive about it.
