Don't tell others how to play their characters PDF Print E-mail

Don’t tell others how to play their characters, that's just rude. Just because you wouldn't do something doesn't mean somebody else would. What is great about what makes us people is our individuality. Playing online is just an extension of who we are as people. One man's garbage is another man's gold, and just because you don't value something doesn't mean somebody else won't.

Be careful because everything is from your point of view. That is really what most people have to remember when they see someone doing something that they don't understand. We all have a way and style we like to play and that is great. But just because I play a certain way doesn't mean, my buddy sitting next to me play the same way. Just remember about perspectives. Everyone has one, and they are all different.

This task becomes more difficult as you become more of a veteran. When you see someone do something that you would do. You instantly try to stop them from doing so. But the thing is you have no idea what they are trying to do. Telling them how to do something is just poor etiquette. Asking questions is okay, but telling another player how to play the game is just wrong.

You may know how to play well for you! But that doesn't mean the way you play is not the best way to play for somebody else. If you begin imposing your will on others you are sure to be kicked out of most groups quickly. So don't do it let others play the game their way even if you think they are playing the game badly.

Never forget to continue to educate yourself all the time when you are addicted to playing a particular game. There are plenty of resources out there now that will help you become a better player at any game you are playing.

The Internet is a great source of information for you, but a tempting one nonetheless. For every site you hit there is another one out there that shows you all the great cheats out there as well. So be careful when you're out there because it is tempting to educate yourself on the cheats as well.

Some sound advice for when you find a site that is helpful for you is to bookmark it. What is also important you bookmark something is to remove it when it stops being helpful. You need to keep your bookmarks updated to keep yourself updated on the best way to play a game.

There are tons of online guides that you can take advantage of out there. These guides will help you become a better more well-rounded player. You can go online and find guides that give you general information as well as very specific information on how to play.

Just remember to focus when reading up on a game. I know I get tempted at want to learn everything great about the game at one time rather than taking one tip at a time and mastering it. I know I would be a much more successful player if I just took the time to learn a particular task well and then move onto the next task once I feel I have mastered what I read.

You will find the other players will appreciate the knowledge you've gained when you've read up and learned all the good tips of playing the game. This doesn't happen overnight, so don't expect quick results like I do. Once you have read a good tip the other side of the coin is learning to apply the tip you were given. I know I find this to be the most difficult part of learning how to effectively play a game. You will find that once others catch on to the fact that you have a lot of knowledge about all aspects of the game you will realize that you are now an expert.

People will be coming to you now because of the work you did just by reading up on the game. Others will be treating you like an expert. And all you did was read up and learned all the effective tricks and tips on how to play the game.

Remember to play for fun PDF Print E-mail

This is probably one of the most important things I can talk about on this blog. Why can't more people be online that want to have fun when they play? Isn't that what everyone is here for anyway? I know people that need to be reminded of this every time they play. I know it's ridiculous to say that they need to remember to play for fun.

The game quickly becomes unentertaining when someone on the board stops having fun. You can tell easily when someone stops playing for the purpose of entertainment also. The player begins to insult others abundantly and quickly. It is easier to pick up on someone’s frustration when you can hear their voice of course but you can easily determine when someone stops playing the game for fun.

Every player at one point or another gets very frustrated and stops playing the game for the fun of it. I am no exception, and neither are you. Just do your best to be aware of the fact that you are no longer playing the game to be entertained. I know it's tough, but for the sake of everyone playing and yourself. It's a valuable to know when to stop playing because the game is no longer fun.

I don't understand why you'd want to continue playing once the game has no longer an appeal to you to be fun. If you do however, just remember there are others out there and you don't want to affect their game just because you are no longer enjoying yourself. If you do enjoy ruining the fun for someone else, then I am sorry. You just don't get it the purpose of playing online.

Don't forget to communicate PDF Print E-mail

I have a friend that for some reason that never remembers to communicates with the rest of the team on what he's doing in a game. For some reason, he will never understand why it is so frustrating to play with someone who doesn't tell you what he's doing. We will never sell him on the fact that it's important to tell the rest of us what he's doing.

For example, we were all looking for an item in a game. We searched as a team and communicated effectively our findings. We spent a good 20 minutes looking for a specific item that would help us advance in the game and in one form or another we were discussing it while we were playing.  Lo and behold our lone ranger friend had found the item and failed to report it to the rest of. So instead of thinking he was an idiot or apologizing for not saying that he had the item. He acted like it was everyone on the team's fault for not advancing further.

All he had to do was listen or look at the screen to know that we were looking for the item he had in his possession all along. Instead, he had to be a lone wolf and play the game by himself and not let any of the five other players know that we could advance further, because he had the item. How could he not know that we were looking for that item all along?

It is a simple process for anyone to figure out. When you are playing with the team do not forget to communicate. If you do your team can adjust its strategy and be more effective when playing the game. I really don't think it's that hard to figure out. Here is another thought. If you communicate with your team your team will respect you and want to play with you more. That way you won't be the butt of all their jokes.

Ask don't beg PDF Print E-mail
Written by Teresa

A lot of people don't understand this concept. It's okay to ask a question when you have one, but it's not okay to beg people for help just to get further along in the game. For some reason people feel that begging is an acceptable form of becoming a good player. Guess what? It's not! So don't do it because it's highly annoying.

Also, there are a lot of players out there that beg. So when you ask a question and get no help it is because so many people beg, and it is hard for players to differentiate between begging and asking. So if you don't get any help don't take it personally just move on and ask somebody else. Just move on, don't take it personally, and most of all the harass someone for not helping you out.

There is a lot of garbage out there and you can't expect everyone to be helpful. There are a lot of people out there that think playing equals = begging. The sooner we all learn to stop annoying people by begging the sooner the number grows and helpful players. There are few helpful people out there and the less we bother them the more of them there will be to help.
